Studying with TAFE Queensland presented me with opportunities I didn't expect that I would ever get. I never thought that I would own my own business, I never thought that I would have my own salon or train my own apprentices.

The facilities at TAFE Queensland were excellent. Full-size barber chairs so you can really learn how to cut hair around that. We had all the tools we needed — razors, clippers, scissors — everything was fully supplied.

Our modern, purpose-built salons give our hairdressing students an opportunity to put theory into practice and gain practical skills in a real-world environment. The fully-operational salons are set up like a real life hairdressing salon with reception desks, hair washing basins, work stations, mirrors, salon trolleys, heat dyers and accelerators. A full range of hairdressing tools and equipment including training mannequins are available for students to practice their styling techniques.
